| As quickly developing of China's economy and her opening up, China's urbanization has been written on the schedule, at the same time, there are also some changes in the Foreign Direct Investment in China. The primary intention of this paper is to examine the characteristics and trend of FDI and China's urbanization, and then to study the effects of FDI on China's urbanization and provide some proper proposals.Urbanization is the inevitable trend of social and economy development and the significant signal of industrialization and modernization as well. China's government has put forward the requirement of "five balances", and balancing urban and rural development is the core. The significant decision of putting urbanization into practice, which was made by the Central Party Committee, is the signal for the adjustment of China's rural and urban structure. As the speeding up of the economy globalization, FDI has many significant effects on China's economy, so in order to know the exact effects of FDI on China's urbanization and make a full use of FDI, it is very necessary to do this research.The main procedure can be briefly described as follows: firstly, this paper gives a brief introduction of the theory of FDI and urbanization; secondly, using the related data from the Yearbook of China Statistics, the paper present forward the main characteristics of FDI and China's urbanization, in this part, the method of statistical description is adopted; and then, a model is built to analyze the effects of FDI on China's urbanization, both the urbanization rate and the quality of the urbanization; at last the policy proposals are given.In summing up, it states that FDI does have some effects on China's urbanization: the unbalance distribution of FDI in China leads the unbalanced development of China's urbanization, on the other hand, FDI dose play an important role in heightening China's urbanization rate and improving its quality, according to which the policy is given. |
