On The Coordination Of RMB Exchange Rate Policy And Other Economic Policies

With the development of the world economy, the contact of China and other countries becomes more and more consanguineous. Because exchange rate as the bridge of connecting domestic and overseas trade, it's policy making looks very important. Under the background of chinese durative openning, the reformation of RMB exchange rate policy aroses broad attention, the coordination of RMB exchange rate policy and chinese customs policy,monetary policy and finance policy becomes an important study problem in face of us.According to the promises of Chinese entering into the World Trade Organization in 2001, China has debased the level of customs for the most of import merchandise, so some industries of China are facing with the tremendous impact of overseas merchandise. Therefore, the coordination of RMB exchange rate policy and chinese customs policy becomes very significative.By the famous Mundell-Flemming model, freedom of capital movement,exchange rate stability and monetary policy autonomy are not concurrence. So the coordination of RMB exchange rate policy and chinese monetary policy looks especially important.In addition, Australian economist Swan put forward Swan Diagram to study the coordination of exchange rate policy and finance policy. But the theoretic conclusions and chinese practice are consistent or not also requires farther study.In this paper, the author first looked back the subsistent theoreticses of coordination of policies, then summarized the effect of RMB exchange rate policy with the development of chinese economy before. The emphases of this paper are making systemic analyses and educing relevant conclusions making use of the data of 1994-2004, according to the true status of chinese customes policy,monetary policy and finance policy. Finally, the author broung forward some suggestions of ameliorating the coordination of RMB exchange rate policy and other economic policies according to the latest adjustment of RMB exchange rate policy.
