The Research On Implementation Of CMM Strategy Among Software Companies In Dalian

With high speed development of information society, every industry is increasingly depending on the computer and software. Software products become a necessary tool for companies to increase production efficiency, quality and enhance management. How to develop software sooner and better in such situation is the current objective to them. What's more, the competition has developed from inland to worldwide since our country joined in WTO. Dalian, famous for its software, also joins in this competition.The paper is based on the theory of CMM (Capability Maturity Model for Software). CMM only contains the general theoretical models without any concrete implementing processes. Therefore the paper made a deep research of Dalian software companies on their software producing process. After collecting a great amount of data by the questionnaire, here abstracted the common characteristics and worked out solutions to the main problems.Firstly this paper introduced the development of the software industry in our country and pointed out the necessity to implement CMM. Secondly it introduced the concrete content, and the requests of different levels, especially CMM Level 2. And the paper designed a questionnaire for those software companies in Dalian, combining the requests of CMM2 and questionnaire designing. The paper analyzed and concluded the results of the questionnaires, and refined the common characteristics of current production among the software business enterprises in Dalian after 2-month research. Based on the study it pointed out that software companies in Dalian should better their producing processes in requirement management, configuration management and quality guarantee. Then the paper designed the improvement for the work flows and relevant forms according to the three fields above. At last my paper advanced a solution scheme for process improving based on the CMM2 implementation.
