How to use data mining techniques for customer relationship management has become a hot research field. Considering the customer relationship management and the customer segmentation theory, this dissertation researches on association rule mining techniques'application on the customer segmentation.Firstly, this dissertation introduces research actuality of customer relationship management, association rule mining technique and implementation of association rule mining's application on customer relationship management. Secondly, this dissertation introduces customer segmentation methods nowadays. Thirdly, this dissertation presents improved algorithms to solve problems found in association rule mining algorithms.Existing association rule mining algorithm has two shortcomings. The one is that the algorithm doesn't care critical itemsets and critical rules and the result is incomplete, the other is the complexity of algorithm is a NP problem. Because of the first shortcoming, this dissertation presents extensive association rule mining algorithm to solve it. Because of the second one, this dissertation presents an algorithm with improved complexity.Finally, this dissertation builds a new model of customer segmentation using the extensive association rule mining algorithm and algorithm with improved complexity.The research result solves some problem in association rule mining's applications on customer segmentation. It provides theoretical basis of the applications.
