The Essence Of Institution

On the basis of fundamental principle and methods of Marxism, the paper tries to form an opinion on the essence of institution and offer a method to understand predicament about institution in practice through analysis and contrast on classical works.The thesis contains four parts. First one centers on sociology and institutional economics to summarizes comprehension on institution of social science and form an elementary definition on institution. Second one introduces John R. Searle's theory on institutional realty and its 'logic analysis on institution, giving prominence to its' logical frame constructed by collective internationality, the assignment of function, constitutive rule as well as other basic concepts. The third part describes Marx's systemic theory on origin and development of institution as well as his understanding on the nature and function of money as a specific modality of institution. Last part analyses the discrepancy in methodology between two theories of institution, considering that institution is social and historical existence in nature, a system of rules to regulate and constitute social action. The paper maintains that we should firstly understand the essence of institution reasonably to comprehend fable about institution and invalidation of institution in contemporary social practice.
