Quantitative Study On Urban Residents' Consumption In Gansu Province

The thesis researches urban residents' consumption in Gansu Province from two aspects: consumption level and consumption structure. This thesis summarizes research fruits of predecessors about resident consumption first; after analyzing the status quo, the thesis systematically studies urban residents' consumption in Gansu Province with consumption level and consumption structure. Corresponding suggestions are given based on the research. In the aspect of consumption level, the thesis establishes and analyzes the classic models of consumption function of urban residents' consumption in Gansu Province first; the error correction model(ECM) is the latest development in studying on consumption function, which is an effective tool to overcome "spurious regression". So, the thesis establishes ECM of urban residents' consumption in Gansu Province, using the mechanism of error correction to expatiate long-term and short-term factor that influences consumption demand. In the aspect of consumption structure, the author uses the cross-section data of Gansu Province, makes use of the theories of the linear expenditure system(ELES) model, establishes urban residents' ELES model by pure income level groups, and analyzes the quantitative characteristics of residents' consumption structure with flexibility theories. Based on the research above, the author puts forward some measures to exploit urban residents' consumption market and expand urban residents' consumption demand.
