Chapter one is the international background of East Asian Currency Cooperation. The writer analyzes the trend and challenge of financial globalization, the coming of international regional currency system, and also the unfairness under the supremacy of USD. As for the trend and challenge of financial globalization, the writer gives the reason of financial globalization from three aspects, and analyzes the cause of the formation for East Asian financial crisis. However, the unfairness of USD supremacy challenges the new structure of international currency system.Chapter two is the necessity of East Asian Currency cooperation. The writer explains in two aspects: the close connection of East Asian trade and finance is easy to form infection effect; and the ineffectiveness of IMF salvation under emergency.Chapter three is the theoretical basis for East Asian currency cooperation, and analyzes briefly from aspects of cost and income and gives a good theoretical support for the five tests later.Chapter four is an analysis for the real meaning of East Asian currency integration. The writer discusses from the policy choosing of international currency collectivizing, East Asian countries resisting financial crisis, the domestic and outside policy choosing of East Asian countries and East Asian political and economic benefit.Chapter five is the hint from U.K. not joining in Euro Zone for the process of East Asian currency cooperation. This part is the core of the thesis. As U.K. is not going to join Euro Zone, and the"5 economic tests"Brown advanced were not passed by U.K., all the restrictive factors within provide real experiences for East Asian currency cooperation. This chapter is to test the main problems the East Asian countries are facing by using 5 economic tests.
