Regional Analysis Of FDI In PIIs In China

Since 1980's, China has received a great amount of FDI inflow. But there are distinguisheddifferences among different areas in China on the economic development, FDI policy, andenvironmental policy etc. So FDI in Plls differs from onc area to anther.First, this paper analyzes, summarizes and compares FDI in PIIs among the three parts inChina from aspects of both scale and structure. The conclusions are: FDI in PIIs in the easternpart of China is much more than that in the middle and the western part. While the proportionbetween FDI in PIIs and FDI in the middle and the western part of China is much higher thanthat in the eastern part. So there is a transfer of FDI in PIIs from the eastern China to the middleand western China. Then this paper analyzes the determinants of the phenomena and finds outthat there is evident relationship between the phenomena and the economic scale, factorendowment, openness degree of trade, infrastructurc and environmental policy as well. At last,focusing on the transfer of FDI in PIIs, this paper studies FDI in PIIs in eastern China in the hopeof bringing forward some suggestions for the middle and the western China on absorbing FDIand on accepting the industry transfer from the eastern China.
