Study On Agricultural Science & Technology Extension System Improving In Gansu Province

Agricultural science & technology is the only way to the development of agricultural modernization in that especially when facing the increasing constraints such as land resource severely lacking, fund and marginal utility decreasing, etc., it will be the chief agricultural production factor conducive to the improvement of agricultural benefit and farmers' income. As an important component of agricultural science & technology mechanism and an organizational system for implementation of national agricultural extension assignments, agricultural science & technology extension system plays a bridge-linking role in transforming science & technology contributions into practical productivity in the process of agricultural and rural economic development.During these years, agricultural science & technology extension system in Gansu contribute significantly to expediting technological fruits transforming and promoting sustainable development, etc., but with the development of market economy and traditional system being gradually deprived of their vigor, its sub-system fell into circumstances of connection cut, extension network broken and personnel leaving. Therefore, under the condition of current agricultural structure adjustment, diverse requirement of agricultural techniques and increasingly drastic competition of agricultural products, it is the main goal to establish nation-dominated agricultural science & technology extension system reinforced by multimode new agricultural science & technology system.This paper is divided into five parts, the first of which describes the related theories of agricultural science & technology extension system; the second introduces its obtained achievements; the third discusses its currently existed problems and analyzes on its cause; the fourth discusses its international referenced experience from U.S. and Japan, etc. and the last puts forward its detailed suggestions on system improving on the basis of its transparent overall proposals and by aiming at its actual problems in Gansu.
