The "four-in-one" cost management pattern is a total cost management model formulated for Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited (hereafter "ICBC") by Mckinsey Company on the spot investigation.ICBC was established in 1984 and experienced the stages of national specialized bank, the wholly state-owned commercial bank and stock company. Although it made progress in strategy of foreign investment and issuing and listing publicly and has more advantage of gross scale and market share, the structural contradictions and low efficiency growth model are not be solved effectively all the time. To solve them, ICBC invite Mckinsey Company to make investigations and the "four-in-one" cost management pattern has been made with co-design.Gansu provincial branch of ICBC made experiments firstly from the "four-in-one" cost management pattern was established this model evaluate bank's business result from the four different aspects of department. Furthermore, it makes clear the key of marketing and operation management. Thus it has significant meaning to guide the bank's management from perception to rationality so that commercialization can be achieved truly. Nowadays, this mode is applying in all ICBC. In this paper, the model's background, application status and prospect applied by Gansu provincial branch of ICBC are deeply discussed.
