An Empirical Research On Influence Of Small Farmers Resources Endowment On Choosing New Varieties High Quality Wheat

This paper is to study the present situation of peasant households planting new varieties of high quality wheel, by empirical survey of new varieties of high quality wheel planting in Fengxian county Jiangsu province. Binary Logit models were employed to study the influence of peasant household resource endowment on choosing new varieties of high quality wheel, using the peasant household resource endowment.On the basis of agriculture technological innovation and diffusion theory, this paper validates the important role of peasant household resource endowment through economic analysis on choosing new varieties of high quality wheel.A survey of 236 households in Fengxian county Jiangsu province was conducted to describe the planting of new varieties of high quality wheel. Descriptive analysis shows that: local individual franchisers are the main channels to purchase new varieties of high quality wheel; the reason of most peasant households choosing new varieties of high quality wheel is the increase of output, peasant households think the county seed company is the most reliable way to get new varieties of high quality wheel, households are mostly concerned with the ability to increase the output when they choosing new varieties of high quality wheel, the quality of seeds is mostly worried about when most households plant new varieties of high quality wheel.The findings of empirical research on the influence of peasant household resource endowment on choosing new varieties of high quality wheel indicate: highest cultural degree engaged in agriculture work, family overall cultivation, households overall agriculture income, access of information from people relationship, government subsides, anticipant income compared to the existing variety have significant positive effects. The labor force aged from 30 to 50, land fragmentation, price situation compared to the existing variety have significant negative effects. Household resource endowment is an important factor influencing households to choose new varieties of high quality wheel and the influencing degree is high.By thorough comparing analysis, this research expounds the important function and influencing mechanism of peasant household resource endowment in the process of choosing new varieties of high quality wheel, so as to supply some related information and policy support to agricultural R&D institution and government.
