Since reform and opening-up, the development posture of overseas project contracting in China is so rapid that China has jumped into the rank of the top 10 global international project contracting countries. However, comparing with the scale of global international project contracting market and large-scale international project contracting enterprises, there's still a great gap between our overall project contracting level and theirs. Faced with the new world economic circumstances and the changes in international contracting market, it has become a very important subject for us to better improve China's overseas project contracting. Accordingly, this dissertation analyzes and researches China's overseas project contracting development posture and strategies.①The research object of this dissertation is development posture of China's overseas project contracting and its competence in the international market; The evidences for research come from data collected in previous years and the diamond theory model put forward by Michael E Porter.②The research methods are listed as follows:1) On the research of our overseas project contracting development posture and its competence in the international market, this dissertation adopts longitudinal method through analyzing time series and contrastive comparison method,2) On the choice of development strategy, this dissertation adopts the application of four characteristics of the diamond theory model in our overseas project contracting.③The research results mainly consist of three parts:The analysis of development posture of our overseas project contractingIn general, our overseas project contracting develops quickly especially in contract amount and turnover. The marketing pattern has developed from"with Asia and middle east as the main markets"to current"emphasizing Asia, developing Africa, rejuvenating middle east, exploiting Europe, America and south pacific region". The industry pattern has developed from initial housing architecture and communication fields to almost every industry in national economy.1) The international competence analysis of our overseas project contractingThe proportion of the number of contractors enlisted in the top 225 largest international contractors does not match that of their turnover. The annual international turnover of every contractor is relatively low, accounting for one third of world's average level. The regional development of our overseas project contracting is unbalanced; the market share in Asian pacific region, Africa and Middle East is higher than international average level, while lower than international average level in other regions. Nevertheless, the annual increase rate of our overseas project contracting turnover is higher than international average level for many years.2) The choice of strategies employed in our overseas project contractingIt employs the diamond theory model put forward by Michael E Porter as the theoretical framework, providing countermeasures and suggestions on the existing problems of our overseas project contracting at government and enterprise level.④The innovative points of this dissertation are listed as follows:1) This dissertation has made systematic collection and organization of a large number of data, analyzing the development posture of our overseas project contracting from a dynamic perspective.2) It adopts longitudinal comparison method through analyzing time series made up of overseas project contracting data, and adopts horizontal method to analyze our overseas project contracting competence in the international market.3) It has made a breakthrough in the previous qualitative or simple quantitative competence analysis, and it adopts horizontal contrastive research method with average turnover and yearly increase rate of every enterprise as index, which objectively analyses our overseas project contracting in the international market.4) It employs the diamond theory model put forward by Michael E Porter as the theoretical framework, analyzing the development strategy of our overseas project contracting at government level and enterprise level.
