Reinsurance is known as "the insurer's insurance", and it is the red centralization of the risk. The development of reinsurance industry is directly related to the security and stability of a national or regional insurance market. Although reinsurance market in China has made significant progress in recent years, there is an unquestionable fact that it is still in a relatively lagging situation because of its late start and weak basis. From 2004 to 2006, the ratio of premium income to the income of direct insurance business in the same period of China Reinsurance Company has remained at around 4 percent, from 1996 to 2006, the premium income of China professional reinsurance companies grew at an average rate of 9.16%, lower than the annual growth rate of the direct premium income at 12.76%.
