Research On Effect Of Boat Standardization To Container Terminal Operation

Container Terminal operating system is an organic system, which is consisted of interactive and dynamic components, such as containers, ships, berths, yards, tracks, quay cranes and yard cranes, trucks and labors in a limited terminal space.Since Container Terminals play a fundamental role in the container transportation to ensure a smooth transfer between different modes of transport, it is very important in internal and international trade.By using modern computer simulating software-flexsim, this paper develop computer simulating model and do a deep research on Container Terminal operating system to provide suggestion for the decision of Chong Qing Jiu Long Po Container Terminal facility configuration.At the beginning of the paper, a literature review on the domestic and abroad researches of simulation technology on Container Terminal operating system is provided, secondly this article introduce the process of boat standardization on the Yangtse river especially upper reaches of the Yangtse river.Then the element and characteristics of Container Terminal operating system ,especially load/unload technology,process of operation,operating principle,followed by quality evaluating index of Container Terminal .At last, the paper introduces the characteristic of Container Terminal operation of internal river according to Chong Qing Jiu Long Po Container Terminal and relating knowledge of system simulation especially knowledge about dynamic separate events.According to materials collected about Chong Qing Jiu Long Po Container Terminal and the requirement during the operation and process,the purpose and the characteristics of the model is introduced.Under the condition of keeping the original characteristics and functions of operation the model is simplified and abstracted. Next, a computer simulation model of Container Terminal operating system is made based on the software of flexsim and is validated by the data of an actual terminal. At last the model is used to analyze the efficiency and productivity under different conditions of Container Terminal such as under the condition of 100TEU,150TEU,200TEU,300TEU ranks of reached vessels,4 trucks,5 trucks and 6 trucks,the front yard have independent crane or not ,and suggestions about opration are given which can help managers deciding their decision.
