Modern logistics has become an important part of modern service industry. To promote the modern logistics to develop in a healthy and fast way plays a positive role in changing the way of national economic income increase, raising the quality and efficiency of general economic operation, adopting the new industrialized way, constructing well-off society in full-scale.Traditional logistics still possess a tremendous part in proportion in our country. How to innovate traditional logistic industry and enhance the competency of traditional logistic industry by applying information technology has always been the subject which the national logistic industry concerned and studied.Logistic system is complicated, widely-used. Different logistic information technology should play their roles in different ways. It has always been a difficult task that how should the government efficiently encourages innovating traditional logistic industry by applying information technology, abstracting the various logistic systems into general logistic systems.According to the longitudinal relation of logistics, this article divides the routes of information technology innovation of traditional logistics into: logistic unit technology, information system and information exchange platform, electric commerce, the third-party logistics, law regulation and human resources of logistics. Through the analysis of the information technological elements of these six aspects, we obtain the routes and policy suggestions of traditional logistic industry innovation by applying information technology. This could be a reference for the government to develop logistic industry and to raise the competency of traditional logistic industry.
