In Three Gorges project, in addition to the land resettlement of migrants, some migrants were moved to towns, involuntarily becoming urban residents. They are so-called migrants who are rural residents becoming urban residents. Migrants feel strange and distant in new cities which is actually in close proximity to their old land, because they could not quickly adapt to the pace of life and lifestyle in the cities as soon as possible. They are also facing enormous challenge in their living conditions. Although these migrants have moved to the clean and spacious house, but they lost the land which sustains their life before. They have become "the new poor" in cities who have both no farm and no job.Migrants who are rural residents becoming urban residents hope both live and work in peace and contentment. But in the present situation, "failed to work in peace and contentment" is the biggest problem for the migrants. The true essence is that the migrants lack the knowledge and skills of employment, and their employment capacity is relatively in low-grade. Therefore, in order to solve the employment problem of migrants, it needs not only "material assistance" but also "spiritual assistance", namely "education support and assistance". In order to enhance their viability, improve their living conditions and achieve their personal values, it is an important way to implement employment education for the migrants.The 17th Party Congress has proposed that we should accelerate the development of social undertakings, comprehensively improve people's living standards, and develop a more comprehensive modern national educational system. Life-long education system has basically taken shape, the degree of universal education and the level of training innovational personnel increase significantly. Therefore, implementing and developing the employment education for migrants is an effective way not only for maintaining social stability and building a harmonious society, but also for creating a learning society, achieving life-long education and raising the people's qualities.In this study, the migrants specific case in Three Gorges reservoir basin has been taken as an example. Taking the effective use of labor resources as the basic starting points, the author consults and analyses the large number of available literature both at home and abroad, go deep into the eight key districts and counties in Chongqing section of Three Gorges reservoir basin, conduct field research and then has a deep discussion about employment education problem on the basis of migrants' interviews and questionnaires. Starting with the emigrants' present living condition, through the analysis of their employment education needs, the author develops the theoretical ' framework of migrants' employment eduction. Under the reflection and questioning of the present situation, the author proposes the constructive suggestions which are targeted and could promote and improve the implement of migrants' employment education in the reservoir basin. The thesis iscomposed of five chapters:Chapter I: Introduction. This part analyzes the background, theoretical and practical value of this study; clearly defines the scope of the study and the main concepts of this thesis; clears up the existing related literature; expounds on the ideas and the research methods of the thesis.Chapter II: The theoretical analysis. This part expounds contents, respectively on the nature, characteristics, purposes, and functions of employment education.Chapter III: The present migrants'education situation in the Chongqing section of Three Gorges reservoir basin. Taking the understanding and introduction of research areas' background and situation as basis, this part focuse on the implementing status and the external support situation of migrants' employment education in Three Gorges reservoir basin through the description of migrants' basic information and their mood on employmentChapter IV: The analysis of the problems and causes of migrants' employment education in the Chongqing section of the Three Gorges reservoir basin. According to the research, there are many problems in migrants' employment education, such as the awareness level, the migrants' education needs analysis, the organizational form of education, the content of education, the effectiveness of education, the school quality and the long-term tracking, and so on. Investigating its causes, there are three main factors: the lower quality of migrants, the migrants' lack of education experience and the lack of the community support on employment education.Chapter V: The countermeasures on the implementation of migrants' employment education in Chongqing section of the Three Gorges reservoir basin. According to the problems identified in the investigation, on the basis of the reflection of the current situation, this part probes into the countermeasures from the angles of the internal support elements, such as the goals and contents of migrants' education, the ways and means of education, and the education organizers and educatee themselves; and external protection measure, such as the financial security, policies and regulations, as well as social support of employment education.
