The bank industry is of high risk, with credit risk as the chief one. With the entrance of WTO, the competition between banks becomes increasingly fierce, and some problems in the current credit risk management of the state-owned commercial banks are worth the attention. It is crucial to improve the credit risk management in state-owned commercial banks.The author studies the domestic and international credit environment, credit system and management, especially in the state-owned commercial banks and some advance foreign ones. With one of the state-owned commercial banks as the sample, the author tries to analyze the problems in its credit risk management and provide the corresponding solutions. The author puts forward that new credit risk management in line with BASEL ACCORDS should be established, introduces the application of KMV model, and offers the corresponding solutions to problems in affirming, measuring and disclosing the credit risks.The thesis consists of four parts. The first part introduces the importance of credit risk management, the domestic and international credit environment, credit system and management, the current situation of credit risk management in state-owned commercial banks and some advance foreign ones. With X Commercial Bank as the sample, the second part analyzes its credit risk management and emergent problems. The last part offers the solution to problems in measure and disclosure of the credit risks.
