Since the 20th century, global merger and acquisition of enterprises accelerates constantly, and international merger and acquisition has become the leading mode of international investment. In all cases of merger and acquisition, the Chinese IT industries are the most active part. Especially, the frequent merging activity of IT industry attracts more attention from world. For better development of the merging enterprises, it is necessary to notice the importance of integration. A large amount of statistics and the experience of out domestic enterprises indicate that unsuccessful integration is the main reason for a failed M&A. The acquired enterprises, through the integration of the transformed resources, market and operating capability, and together with the emergence of synergy, can effectively allocate and optimize those foresaid elements and finally strengthen the capabilities of the enterprises, and thus establish the dominant position in the industry. However, integration is usually a long-term and complex process. And what are being integrated include all the respects of an enterprise. How to find out the decisive factors key to the success of integration has become one of the main problems studied by many enterprises as well as business scholars.This thesis combines general theory of M&A and the practical condition in Chinese IT enterprises, while emphasizing the importance of integration after M&A. The thesis is divided into four parts: First, an introduction of the background and significance of the research as well as the methods used. Second, general theories, concept and basic types of M&A; the driving force of M&A in Chinese IT enterprises; analysis of reasons for a failed M&A; the importance of integration. Third, it studies the influence of M&A to Chinese IT enterprises, including the present situation and the developing direction of Chinese IT enterprises. Fourth, the integration of Chinese IT enterprises after M&A. The following sections put forward some suggestions to Chinese IT enterprises for their integration, citing the M&A of Lenovo and TCL as examples.
