With the issuing of"Several proposals on the development of the reform in insurance industry from state department", the insurance market of our country will go in to a golden age. Except for the chances, there are also many challenges. How to catch these chances, and realize high speed of growth? This is the work we need to do.With the entering of foreign enterprises, neither the ability in management nor the service to the customer, we can compare to the foreign company. How to become competitive in future? How to deal with the problem we are facing? This is the key problem needs to be worked out. Customer management is imported on this condition. This thesis gives a research on this problem from the following aspects. At the front of this thesis, it mainly talks about the meanings of customer management; next, it introduces the application of date mining in customer management. The whole thesis gives a description on the application of data mining in customer management. At first, a model for customer classification is devised, so if the customer gives the information of himself, then the model will put out the insurance product which suit him best. This makes it possible to sell the insurance product in the Internet. Second, according to the special sales manner of insurance product, a relevant rules is prompted, it can analyze the consumption habits of the customer, so it can make a prediction on behavior of the customer, then the company can take reciprocal action to make sales promotion.In a word, with the development of computer, the information we get from the data will become more and more abundance. So the effect of data mining will became more and more important. And insurance is also a industry which is filled with all kinds of dates, so data mining will become one of the most powerful tools in insurance.
