Study On Funeral Changes Of Hualan Yao Nationnalitys

Yao still has an abundant traditional culture which has survived in the changing modern society. Hualan Yao is one of the members of Yao nationality and the special history attributes to the unique national culture.Funeral culture is an important component, with the socio-economic and cultural development. Funeral culture of Hualan Yao has experienced burning out bones funeral,picking up bones funeral as well as simplify funeral rituals that is a microcosm of the Hualan Yao social process.Funeral culture of Hualan Yao has been paid more attentions in history. In 1930's, Fei Xiaotong and Wang Tonghui did research and wrote the book named " The Social Structure of Hualan Yao in Xiang County, Guangxi ", which included abundant contests. It made tremendous contributions to the ethnological research, but did not well in funeral respect.This paper takes Jinxiu Yao Autonomous county of Guangxi Mentou village for example, discussing the changes of funeral culture with the methods of ethnology, historical anthropology. It aims to show the challenges that Hualan Yao has confronted in order to give references to promote the social development of Hualan Yao.
