Over the past 10 years, the emergence and the rapid growth of the economy hotels in China have aroused widespread concern. Unlike the market positioning and price of high-grade hotel, the economy hotel has a huge number, faces to the public, and gets the market recognition for its affordable prices and clean,comfortable residential services. At the same time, how to achieve a healthy and steady growth of economy hotel in China has become a problem which needs to be studied and solved urgently.Basing on business growth theory and business strategy, and also combining the features of economic hotel, this paper analyses the growth momentum and growth mode of economic hotel. It points out: The growth of economic hotel is the function results of internal and external growth momentum; External momentum including the stimulation of market demand and the promotion of competition within the industry; Internal growth momentum are from the internal of economic hotel, they are the resources. capacity and knowledge owned by the economic hotel. There are three main growth modes of economic hotel: chain operations, acquisitions and strategic alliances.After the more systematic theoretical analysis, this paper will divide economic hotels into single economy hotels and economy hotels chain in accordance with the operating mode, and give a deep analysis on their internal growth momentum respectively. On this basis, according to the single economic hotels and economy hotels chain situation of resources, capacity and knowledge, this paper brings forward relevant growing strategic choice and the key points of implementation respectively.
