Basing on the need of the modern civil aviation transport, this thesis gives the characteristics of the flight segment volume and the analysis of comparing several forecasting methods. It applies the support vector machine theory in flight segment volume forecasting, then builds forecasting model and gets certain effect.First, this thesis analyzes the characteristics of existed forecasting methods and compares their advantage and disadvantage. Then it introduces the support vector machine theory in detail. The paper analyzes LS-SVM theory and experiment procedure and mostly discribes the SVM based on bayes. Three models are built and the result shows support vector machine can serve for flight segment volume forecasting. Now the theory of the SVM has been used in the system of ForMax.At last, the thesis tells the disadvantage of the model and points the later development objects.
