Philosophical Reflection On Modern Agricultural Science And Technology

On the basis of analysis of history and status for modern agricultural science and technology, this paper tries to explore a road for healthy development of agricultural science and technology the road through collection, collation and summing up reflection of all areas of modern scholars on the achievements of agricultural science and technology. There are many different views on the development of modern agricultural science and technology. The positive views including the main following aspects, scientific researchers on agricultural science and technology research hold a positive but relatively cautious attitude to modern agricultural science and technology. This paper selected three representative reflections from scholars in the field of agricultural science and technology reflection, including reflections on related fields from breeding scientists, fertilizer and pesticide experts. In addition, the technology optimists and most economists are optimistic of the future development of agricultural science and technology. Negative views of modern agricultural science and technology are mainly from the humanist scholars, environmentalists and some enthusiastic practitioners of alternative agriculture, they hold pessimistic view on the development of modern agricultural science and technology. Among them, the practitioners of natural agriculture have a complete denial view on modern agricultural science and technology, advocating the complete deny.Through comparative analysis and the way of thinking, this paper made a comparative research and comparative analysis of complete affirmation and complete denial, summed up the rationality and limitations of both views, trying to make integration and conformity of both views, by reflection method, critique method and construction method. It is obvious that both views of complete affirmation and complete denial are impassable. Complete affirmation of modern agricultural science and technology ignores the environmental pollution and resource constraints, it is not sustainable. Complete denies modern agricultural science and technology are often at the expense of high cost of the productivity to ease the crisis of human and earth and the crisis of environment, this way is also impermissible. The current research shows that complete return to traditional agricultural science and technology is impossible, complete affirmation of modern agricultural science and technology is also impossible. The right choice for healthy agricultural development is a road that not only can take into account of the environment, but also take into account of the development of sustainable agriculture.Currently, more and more scholars have made certain contributions to the exploration of middle path. The most notable characteristic of Agricultural Intermediary Technology is the emphasis on good grasp of degree, and appropriate intermediary technology will become an effective guide of the healthy development of agricultural science and technology in future.
