During the Roosevelt administration from 1933 to 1945, in order to deal with a serious crisis in agriculture and strive for the victory of the World War II, The U. S. federal government took a large number of active policies. These to some extent alleviated the situation of agriculture, support the front line of war, promote agricultural development in the United States after the War. At the same time, an active policy of agriculture also urged to create a national model of agricultural development, and promoted the development of state monopoly capitalism.This paper, focusing on the very historical background of Roosevelt Era, makes an analysis of the agricultural policies, such as the demand and supply of agricultural products, elements of production, adopted by American federal government during the "New Deal" age and the World War II, based on which an objective appraisal and conclusion are given.In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the paper mainly consists.of four parts.The first part provides an American different periods' overview of the basic conditions for agricultural development and the evolution of the basic policies.The second part is the agricultural policies during the "New Deal" . This part mainly elaborats the driving forces of agricultural policies on the "New Deal" period, the policy that President Hoover respond to the agricultural crisis, and the content of Roosevelt's agricultural policy during the "New Deal" .The third part is the agricultural policies during the World War II. This part discusses the reasons of agricultural development during the World War II and the policies that Roosevelt made in agriculture.The fourth part is a comprehensive assessment on agricultural policies during Roosevelt era. This part not only analyzes the characteristics of agricultural policies during Roosevelt era, but also discusses agricultural policies' impact on future generations.
