An Empirical Analysis On The Economic Growth And Change Of Woodland Area

The change of woodland is the most outstanding expression form of human activities that acts on nature resources and environment, and on one hand, its occurrence and development are controlled directly by the background of regional nature and geographical environment including mainly climate, physiognomy and soil etc. as well as cover type of the primary wildwood, on the other hand, it is also disturbed by human activities, which mainly represents as the reachability and frequency of anthropogenic influence as well as the selection mode of woodland utilization including mainly including population distribution, traffic condition, social needs as well as economic industrial structure etc.During the past 350 years, each time of worldwide capital expansion went along with the cosmically descending of the woodland area. Therefore, it is appealed internationally for the protection of the life variety. While in the same time, it has caught more and more attention to and arguments internationally about the effects of regional economic increasing to the change of forest area. One point of view is that the regional economic increasing and the increasing demands for the forest products will increase the woodland area, while the other opinion is that it's necessary to accelerate the increasing of woodland area and protection of forest by direct and effective measures. In the same time of rapidly development of Chinese economy, it becomes a hot topic day by day to the people that how to increase the woodland area.As it's very obvious of the differences of economic development and the change of forest resource in Jiang Xi province, it is chosen as the investigated area for this article. By adopting the Landsat TM/ETM numeric video which covers Jiang Xi province in China in the middle and back period in the 1980's, middle and end period of 1990's(briefly 1987,1995 and 2000 year), and by the mutual interpretation between the computer screen and human by the Landsat TM (or ETM) remote sensing image in order to obtain the distributing datas of the woodland space. Meanwhile to obtain the distributing condition of the woodland coverage,the dynamic changing condition of the woodland area as well as the transformation condition among the internal kinds of the woodland in Jiang Xi province. In order to further analyze the contribution of the economic increaing in Jiang Xi Province to the woodland area change of this province,in this article, there are the satellite remote sensing datas with a resolution of 30m*30m rooted in the detecting satellite of US earth resource obtained from CAS, and the measured datas of the natural and climate factors from CAS data center, as well as the statistic variable of the economics and population from the Statistic Almanac,recurred to the EKC and estimated integrately the construction of the econometric model to the social economics and natural factors, to search for the determinant factor that lead to the change of forest rescource in China. Then set up these factors to be constant, and to analyze if there is EKC existed in the area of Jiang Xi forest resource, if yes, the location of EKC in Jiang Xi could be quantitative analyzed.It's found by investigation that an obvious U shape curve relationship is existed between the economic development and forest source in Jiang Xi Province. Furthermore, this relationship has been validated by applying with the methods of descriptive statistics,multi-variable analysis and Spatial Econometrics. During the investigation, we found that the tiptop inflexion value of the Kuznets Curve is USD 84,173, which is even higher than the present average income level in Jiang Xi.Then according to the total developing objective and requirements of construction distribution for the forestry in our country, and under the background of the changing factors of population increasing,basic establishment construction as well as considering about the relationship between the regional economic development and the changeof woodland area, we put forward the decisive suggestions for the protection and development of woodland pertinently.
