| Traditional sociological research about the role-playing is carried out in reality, accompanied by the rise of Internet role-playing also has a new display space, especially in the online games virtual space. This study used qualitative research methodology of "case studies" and "depth interviews", chose one online game and its players as the study object for a descriptive study about the role-playing of online games. This study not only conducive our traditional role-playing of sociological theory to further enrich and develop, but also help us has a more in-depth understanding to the social behavior as well as the virtual community which the Network Sociology concerned, such as network contacts, network interaction and so on. In addition, it can also provide a richer and more diversified perspective to the workers who concerned about the players' behavior and development; it will help them to take proper measures to help players establishing meaningful roles. The findings as follow:1,The concept of role in online games virtual space is a kind of "occupation-role" concept, players tend to refer to their occupation as the role of their own.2,In the online games, a player usually can play several roles, players have a large freedom to choose the roles to play, so much as try other sexual role-playing which different from their actual sex.3,Players have a variety of orientation of motivation to choose role: the role's fighting ways, the role's appearance or attributes, the virtual games reward of playing a role, the other players' need ,as well as the role in line with the player's expectations in real life.4,Player's role-playing of online games mainly through the networking interaction to achieve, the networking interaction of online games have four main items: chatting, fighting with each other, team cooperation and trading goods.5,Player's role-playing of online games will be affected not only by some tangible or intangible rules, but also by the sense and imagine of individual player, as well as the other players' expectations to the role which one played.6, The role-playing of online games have a certain amount of positive significance to players. Through role-playing, players not only released the pressure, tediousness and anguish in their real life, to meet the emotional satisfaction, but also based on the experience of the online games virtual space to reflect on their own in real life. |
