Mapping Research Of Knowledge Management

Since the Master of Management Peter Drucker has made the term knowledge management,knowledge management has developed nearly 30 years.This emerging field has a broad scope,including not only computer science,engineering,operations research & management science,information science & library science,but also extending to medical, chemical,aerospace,and other highly specialized fields,even in manufacturing,Electric and Electronic,environment,machinery and oil industry.Thus,knowledge management research scholars can be described as all kinds,and their research contents as variety.Based on this,it is important to investigate the whole situation of knowledge management to reveal the skeleton the development of knowledge management.Based on the integrated methods of mapping knowledge domains,social network analysis and frequency analysis of title words,via CiteSpace,Bibexcel,SPSS software,the author try to reveal the structure and evolution of the main sub-fields and representative scientists,research fronts and collaboration networks in the field of knowledge management.As a result,the author co-citation map formed by the top 30 most cited authors reveals that there are 4 main sub-disciplines in knowledge management.And the most influential authors are ALAVI M,DAVENPORT TH,SPENDER JC,WENGER E,STEWART TA,SIMON HA,HOLSAPPLE CW,HOLSAPPLE CW,LEONARD BARTON D,HANSEN MT,KOGUT Band so on.The research front phrases in 1998-2007 are:wellspring knowledge,tacit knowledge,working knowledge,intelligent capital,communites of practice,knowledge create,knowledge foundation and so on.The document co-citation map of knowledge management indicates that the 5 main research fronts of knowledge management. And the most cited documents is knowledge creat company,which was released in 1995 and is wrote by NONAKA I.United States,Europe and a few Asian countries,such as Singapore have more contributions in knowledge management.Drexel University,University of Karlsruhe and IBM company are the most important institutes.
