In the distribution of household appliances, as the compartments have no top and wall, with excellent flexibility in loading cargo and large load space, high-low board trailer is widely used for long-distance road transport distribution of household electrical products by appliance businesses and the third-party logistics businesses engaged in home appliances distribution. However, as an important part of the distribution, high-low board trailer is still equipped with manual estimates loading which is of great risk and over-depends on the loading personnel's experience and ability. Especially, with the increasing competition in household appliances industry for recent years, the bottlenecks effects of loading to the household appliances distribution process are more obvious, which seriously restricts the delivery efficiency of home appliances distribution. Starting from the practical problems in the process of Electrolux refrigerators loading, this paper studies the high and low board trailer which is widely used in large-scale distribution of household electrical appliances at present. As the compartments are in irregular shape, it is difficult to optimize the loading of high-low board trailer. Based on the detailed analysis of characteristics of its compartments and various constraints during the process of practical loading, this paper learns from the container loading optimization and adopts the method of layered load and the principle of space division of the merger. Heuristic and construction rules of space composition will be integrated into the basic genetic algorithm to narrow understand space.For the loading characteristics of high-low board trailer,the paper uses the floating-point code rule and designs corresponding genetic operators to enhance the efficiency of the algorithm. At last the paper uses an example to verify this algorithm of loading optimization. The results show, that the algorithm can effectively solve loading issues of the high-low board trailer in the process of large-scale household appliances distribution and can make household appliances businesses out of blindness and inefficiency of manual estimates loading.
