The issuing of 3G licenses indicated competitions in 3G era launch in China. The role of the laws of markets has become increasingly dominant after the reorganization of Telecom Industry in China. Undoubtedly, the initiative intellectual property rights of 3G standard-TD is expected to mature in fierce market competitions. In the period of domestic economy regression impacted by the international financial crisis, new investments, including network construction, terminal manufacture, and information service in telecom industry will stimulate domestic economy to some extend.The dissertation focuses on the way of growth of telecom operators before and after the period of issuing 3G licenses. It applies the theory of the firm growth into telecom industry. Meanwhile, it analyses the impacts of endogenous factors and indicators of performances. Moreover, it tries to seek for the factors which constraints firm growths, focusing on four perspectives-human resources, financial operational capability, marketing capabilities and resource utilization capabilities. With comparative analysis of famous international telecom operator, it points out that marketing capabilities and resource utilization capabilities constraint firm growth. Then, it puts forward strategies and suggestions to promote firm growth with considerations of experience of 3G operators abroad and specific domestic condition in telecom market in China.The empirical analysis follows the theoretical foundation from economic and managerial perspectives. It applies comparative analysis, statistical methods, qualitative and quantitative methods to develop a comprehensive understanding of firm growth issues in telecom industry, with the goal of acquiring instructive suggestions of firm growth in 3G ear.
