With the vigorous development of the real estate industry, housing demand continues to expand and sustainable development of housing industry is attracting more and more public attention. Sustainable development of housing industry is inseparable from social and economic environment, and it is closely related to the people's daily lives. Therefore, whether the housing industry development is sustainable has respect with whether the society can develop steadily. Factors that affect the housing industry are multi-faceted. The analysis in this paper reveals that those factors are inextricably linked with economic development subsystem, population development subsystem, resources and environment subsystem, social development subsystem and policy development subsystem.In order to combining sustainable development theory with its practical application and make the evaluation results more scientific and rational, on the basis of housing industry and sustainable development theoretical studies, the paper makes key efforts to study how to determine weights and try to apply computer calculation to sustainable development system of housing industry, thereby establishing the evaluation and prediction models for sustainable development of housing industry.The paper first analyzes the research progress and status of sustainable development theory and evaluation methods, and points out the imperfections of current study. Then it presents the relevant theories of the housing industry and important factors which affects sustainable development of housing industry. All those basic work are prepared for the following analysis and problem-solving.After that, methods for determining index weights are improved. A new comprehensive weight method carrying on the weight computation to the system index is proposed, which combines Entropy method with G1 method. The new method convenes the advantages ofsubjective and objective weight, and provides a prerequisite to the scientific rationalization for evaluation system. The paper has established mathematical model for evaluation and prediction of sustainable development of housing industry. And it has been applied to the province's empirical analysis. The results of the example in the paper have been consistent with the actual situation, which illustrates the validity of built model and proves the model had practical value to some extent. Finally, the paper uses gray dynamic model to predicting and proposes the possibility of development trends of sustainable development of housing industry in the future. This research results can provide data support for decision-makers.
