Analysis Of Determinants On Peformance Of Internet Firms Towards Resource-based View And Environmental Dynamism

In the current context of globalization and informationization, it's meaningful for the effective evaluatation of Internet firms' performance and the promotion of policies' formulation. Because Internet firms are different from the traditional manufacturing-oriented enterprises and other general service companies in its own business characteristics, the evaluatation of Internet firms' performance must be based on the specific situation about Internet.Therefore, this study combined the latest research in the field of e-business and Internet, constructed the research model about determinants on peformance of Internet firms from the perspective of resources-based view and environmental dynamism theories, and discussed the impact of Internet firm performance and the relationship between factors.This study took Internet firms from Zhejiang and Guangdong as the object to verify the hypothesises. With the help of Department of Information Industry of Guangdong Provice, the study gives a public questionnaire survey, collecting sample data from the target Internet firms of the research project(06120840B0720124), then the study analyzed the collected sample data with the help of SPSS 16.0. In addition, the study compared two Internet firms from Zhejiang and Guangdong specificly to verify the results of empirical analysis. At last, the study drew the main conclusions as follows:First of all, the evaluation dimensions about human capital of Internet firms included leadership, employee skills and talent development capabilities; the evaluation dimensions about website operating capacity included IT capability, strategic flexibility and confidence-building capacity; the evaluation dimensions about environmental dynamism included market dynamism and technology dynamism.Second, human capital, website operating capacity and financing capacity had obvious positive impacts on the performance of Internet firms. Thirdly, the moderating effect from environmental dynamics were partly substantiated on the relationship between human capital, website operating capacity, financing capacity and the performance of Internet firms.Fourthly, the case study of two Internet firms verified the results of empirical analysis.At last, based on the research above, the study put forward several proposals on how to develop and explore the core capabilities of Internet firms and how to seize the changes in the external environment, so that it can promote the Internet entrepreneurship in China, and help government support the Internet industry with significant reference value.
