Studies have shown that the development of pharmaceutical logistics in China is in its start-up. The management of medical logistics is lagging behind. Modern technology tools and management have not been fully utilized. Because of the large number of medical enterprises and the level of development in different types of enterprises vary in different regions; the construction of information and the application of modern logistics technology differ considerably. With the development of market economy and logistics specialization level, Pharmaceutical logistics enterprises develop rapidly in recent years. Medication loading problem is a type of discrete optimization problem with strong application background, the rationalization of medication loading is to get the highest comprehensive utilization ratio in condition of the existing boxes. A due loading plan can improve the space utilization ratio of boxes, reduce logistics cost of distribution enterprises, enhance their competitiveness and bring great economic benefits to them at the same time.Bin packing problem has become an important research direction and widely applied to traffic transportation industries and logistic enterprises. Bin packing is a combinational optimization and NP-complete problem, which is generally the decision making problem with many goals and many constraints.Especially with the increasing of the specifications to be loaded, the solution projects of the freight loading problem will increase by exponent speed. Therefore the study of approaches to solving bin packing problem has great significance not only in theory but also in practice.Aiming to the optimized models and algorithms for the Bin packing problems of pharmaceutical logistics enterprises, this paper tries to offer a total solution for the rationalization of the medication loading.First of all, after detail description of research and presentation of a variety of ways to solve this problem according to domestic and overseas scholars in this field, the composing elements of bin packing problem are systematically analyzed, which provide the foundation for classifying and establishing the optimal mathematics model about bin packing problem. Secondly, the bin packing problems are abstracted and defined as two types of problems, namely three-dimension bin packing problem in a single box and boxes' classification of bin packing problem in multiple boxes. The mathematics models about the two typical bin packing problems also established respectively, and the algorithms to solve these models are also designed. On one hand, heuristic approach and the genetic algorithm are utilized in searching strategy; the three-dimension animation is also designed according to the first problem. On the other hand, the second problem is very common in pharmaceutical logistics. This problem is solved by the boxes' classification algorithm programs that are developed with MATLAB, and the efficiency of this algorithm is verified by corresponding experimental computation case.Thirdly, after a detail introducing of sending materials out of warehouse, checking and packaging process, an optimization of detachable medication loading process in pharmaceutical distribution center is made by bin packing model. And the possible result is given according to the application of this process optimization.At last, A simple summary and prospect for the possible application is given.
