Coordinated deveopment of regional trade is of crucial importance to the national economy. This paper reflects the interregional trade trends from different aspects with data of different provincial trade balance and railway goods exchanges from 1998 to 2007. Meanwhile, this paper also estimates the trend changes of interregional trade ties with the mode of boundary effects. The study shows that:(1) those interregional trade deficit provinces are mainly the focused on the west of china, while the interregional trade surplus provinces are in the eastern part of china; interregional trade balance has a positive contribution to the GDP growth in the eastern part, while it is negative in the central and western part, the eastern part has more benefits in the regional trade and wins the market advantages. (2) interregional trade are mainly conducted among the neighboring provinces, in which the northeast three provinces are the most closely related but its national openess is relatively low; the open degree is higher in the Beijing Tianjin and Hebei district and the Tangtze River Delta region, but the regional trade ties need to be strenthened in these two areas; the pan-pearl river delta has formed Guangdong as the core of its trade pattern; the provincial trade ties are weak in the northwest part of china, it needs to break the barriers and strengthen provincial cooperation. (3) overally, the interregional trade contact in our country is gradually strenthening and more open.
