Most developing countries have adapted to the major trend of the world's industrial structure under the economic globalization. These countries have taken the economic development strategies of industrialisation and developed the manufacturing industry with comparative advantages. As the physical foundation and main industry of the developing countries, manufacturing, which is the principal industry for taking part in the international division, must export for earning foreign exchanges. Though developing countries have enhanced their economic status in the foreign trade and risen their overall competitiveness of the economy depending on the development of manufacturing, their industries are still in the low-end processing and assembly link with low value-adding, limited level of technology and high dependence of export. As a result, upgrading of manufacturing is critical to the sustained and healthy developments of these countries.Currently, economic crisis has come, the influence of which has spreaded to each industries and departments. In terms of the export, risks of foreign trade, financing, enterprises'structure and employments of labors, positive and negative impacts have been leaded to these countries'manufacturing by this crisis. It has made their manufacturing face more difficulties and challenges, and proposed more urgent requirement to manufacturing upgrading. And also, the crisis has stimulated developments of manufacturing positively, and prepared conditions for the realization of manufacturing upgrading.Further more, integrating analysises in the need and influential factors of manufacturing upgrading, we can conclude that economic crisis has brought hard-won opportunities to manufacturing upgrading for the developing countries. The first positive influnce is in favor of labor force. It can increase the demand and supply of education and training industry. The second one is on the side of capital, because this crisis can promote the financial support from governments and international organizations, and also improve the efficiency of capital utilization. The third one is in technology. During the economic crisis, it is the technology-intensive manufacturing and environmental low-carbon technologies that can propel the technological advancement. The fourth one is as to management. The crisis can lead to higher level of management by strengthening the macro-governance and innovating the micro-enterprise on the management. The structure factor is the fifth one. Acquisitions and co-operations between enterprises, impeled by this crisis, can be beneficial to the structural optimization of manufacturing. The last one is export-oriented economic strategy for development. These strategies can be adjusted to diversification of products and markets under the background of economic crisis. In short, this economic crisis will help developing countries enhance the quality of labors, accumulation of capital, technological progress, management advance, structural optimization and adjustion of export-oriented economic strategy, by virtue of which manufacturing could get the aim of upgrading .This economic crisis could bring rare opportunities to impel the manufacturing upgrading of developing countries. Especially, it will provide conditions for manufacturing upgrading of our country. As the largest developing country now, manufacturing in our country reflects the general characteristics of developing countries, and also has its own specificities, with the urgency of upgrading in particular. In addition to its own shortcomings, our manufacturing is facing a range of pressures and challenges in the international and domestic markets, which will make a very urgent requirement for upgrading. However, the economic crisis just can provide conditions for upgrading of our manufacturing. It could be thoroughly in favor of manufacturing upgrading by way of capital increasing, active technological progress, macro-management advance, structural optimization and adjustion of export-oriented economic strategy. We should seize this historic opportunity and take some concrete measures timely, which include increasing expenditure on training and education of labors, adding capital investment and improving the efficiency of its utilization, intensifying efforts to the introduction of foreign advanced technology and management experience, encouraging all aspects of innovation, promoting industrial restructuring and the elimination of backward production capacity and so forth, in order to upgrade our country's manufacturing industry smoothly. This paper mainly studies manufacturing upgrading of developing countries under the influence of economic crisis. The first part is about the summary of upgrading in industries(manufacturing industry), which contains comments on relevant theories, as well as conceptions of manufacturing industry and manufacturing upgrading. In the second part, the paper has summarized the positive and negative impacts to the manufacturing sector of developing countries that this crisis has leaded, on the basis of analyzing the general characteristics of the manufacturing. The third part focuses on the mechanism of manufacturing upgrading in developing countries. On the premises of accounting for the need and influential factors of manufacturing upgrading, the paper explains this crisis'mechanism on the manufacturing upgrading of developing countries. The fourth part stresses on the characteristics of our country's manufacturing and the necessity of its upgrading. The paper's last part researches on the conditions and path of manufacturing upgrading in our country.Innovations of this paper include: For one thing, it combines research of crisis'influences with research of manufacturing upgrading in developing countries, which can provide a new starting point for further study in these two realms. Especially, it will support manufacturing upgrading of our country in the theory. For the other thing, this paper has tessellated the upgrading, which specialized in manufacturing upgrading, containing its concept, factors, and so on, while scholars studied the industrial upgrade generally.
