With the rapid development of social economy and inceasingly requirement for leisure, the urban recreation space has been an important factor in city tourism, especially RBD, which developed so fast that it has already become a new tourism economy growth. RBD is one of the main forms of the urban recreation space with specific geographic and functional characteristics. It plays an important role in public communication for space providing and reflects the development of society, economy and culture of the city. RBD is facing more challenges as the increasingly competition among tourism cities.The author selected Shanghai Chenghuang Temple and Nanjing Confucius Temple as examples in the paper. Shanghai Chenghuang Temple compromises the style of traditional Chinese architecture and the features of southern gardens, while Nanjing Confucius Temple compromises the space forms of temple, shool and market. Both substantively demonstrate the beauty of urbans. The author adopted comparative analysis method in recreation space stuctures and tourists'behaviors of the two RBDs by combining the tour geography and social statisticst, then put forward optimal suggestions and solutions for further development.This paper consists of 5 chapters. The first chapter systematically generalized the research questions, research significance, methods, contents, research reviews, relevant concepts and theories. The second chapter emphasised on the formation and evolution of recreation space. It briefly described the targeted districts from historical evolution and formation mechanism. The third chapter compared the recreation space structures of substance, which mainly discussed the similarities and differences among targeted districts around the scenic spots, commercial shops and public space. The fourth chapter compared the recreation space structures of behavior. The author figured out the similarities and differences on recreational requirement and consumption, and anylized the space perception based on quality evaluation system of recreation space. In the final chapter, the author proposed suggestions and expectations for the optimization development for 2 RBDs.
