In order to ensure the production continuity for petro-chemical factory, the most important thing is the power system is reliable , safety without any interruption.The power system of Guangdong petro-chemical consists of main power supply system and distribution system which includes a lot of electrical equipment like generator, switchgear , transformer, motor , relay etc. the main power supply system includes the coupler line ,main substation and generator system mainly as well as the distribution system mainly includes substation of each workshop.Because of the continuity of production in petro-chemical factory, the load of factory is stable without big fluctuation .In order to ensure the stability and safety for the whole system, it is necessary to evaluate and analysis the power system structure ,electrical equipment performance and power demand of the factory in systematic way to find out the risk and weak point and take necessary measure to prevent and improve. this study will not only help to improve the power system management and efficiency and strengthen the production continuity, but also found the base for future power system extension design to improve the reliability of power system and product expansion.After investigate the current situation and collect the data which related to power system of Guangdong petro-chemical , the topology of system was formed , based on the demand of load and power supply capacity, using ETAP to simulate the system and do the system study and evaluate the system reliability and feasibility and analysis the current , short circuit current in different condition.Based on the system study , power demand , future development of petro-chemical factory, current status of power system and power system plan , the suggestion was made on the whole system design, 220kv system introduction , load distribution and generator connection and optimizing the system design.
