Study On The Correlation Between Political Connection Of Mission Statement And Company's Sustainable Development

At present,the unsound institutional environment in china makes government regulation implant in economic field, which is called controlled market economy. And furthermore it leads to the contradiction between strong government and weak corporation. So the corporation political connection becomes hidden rules. What's more, the situation of corporations'earning performance and life span are below expectations belongs with the rapid economy development in China especially private enterprise. Mission statement is the beginning of the corporate development strategy, if it can disclose the intention to strengthen the political connection, and influence the corporate sustainable development? With the study of 147 private enterprises, the empirical results show the effect of mission statements on corporate sustainable development. And mission statements have many political connection factors, which are positive related to corporate political behavior significantly. Furthermore, corporate political social capital which is resulted from political behavior positive affects corporate sustainable development significantly. So the results confirm the indirect effects of corporate mission statements on corporate sustainable development. As the main role of resource allocation, government also control the sustainable development of private enterprises in China, it also tells us that the boundary of the role of market and government is necessary, so as to achieve the effective coordination between government industrial policy and industrial microstructure.
