The booming of internet has laid ground for the prosperity of internet-based e-commerce. As one of the biggest network transaction platforms all over the world, eBay has achieved great success for providing an e-commerce platform for thousands of individuals and enterprises. But today eBay also faces fierce competition from Amazon and TaoBao all over the world. How to reconstruct its unique core-competitiveness and regain its competitive advantage over other competitors is on the top line of eBay's key business strategy.This article focuses on how eBay managed to achieve the goal of service innovation by the technology of consumer behavior analytics based on data mining. This article introduces data mining tools to the process of customer relationship management analysis, and implements deep data mining analysis based on the data, which is from eBay china's large scale CRM database, of 4 different phases throughout the customer growth cycle, coupled with 4R CRM analytic framework, to make corresponding marketing policy to maintain eBay's competitive edge. This article brings new ways for internet companies to develop business and grow up from the "red sea" competition, and is helpful for those internet companies who seek to improve the level of customer relationship management, improve customer satisfaction and achieve competitive edge.
