Research On Development Of Automobile Industry Cluster In Hebei Province

Seen on the global perspective, industry cluster is a very important economic form in the economic development of countries and the Government Property planning. Benefiting from the industry cluster, enterprises within it can reduce transaction costs and enjoy massive economic effects, with a result that the industry as well as the economic development of the whole region can witness a boost. Because the automobile industry casts numerous contributions on regions'economic development with the help of the large economic pull, every region attach great importance to it. Viewing the development process of their automobile industry, all powers in automobile production invariably developed through the industry cluster. This phenomenon is due to some characteristics of the automobile industry.This paper firstly introduces the automotive industry cluster and some basic theories of industry clusters, and then lays analysis on some developed countries'experience in forming the industry cluster, followed by some examples, such as: America developed automobile industry by mass production, Japan by Lean production and Spain by foreign investment. Then it introduces the current development status of the six automobile industry clusters in our country as well as the vehicle manufacturing and parts industry of Hebei province. Through comparison among them, we know that the industry cluster of Hebei province has a distance on the number and size of the core business, but that it also has its advantage. Therefore, in the fourth part of this paper it analyzed with examples automotive industry of Hebei province. Through the location quotient, it analyzed the development level of cluster and concluded that vehicle manufacturing industry is accelerating the formation of clusters, but the parts industry develops slowly compared with the former. Then it evaluates the competitiveness of Hebei automobile industry from six facets through the Theory of Diamond Model. On the basis of the fourth part it analyzed in the fifth part the problems in the development process of Hebei province automobile industry, such as the weak basis of parts industry; poor innovation ;lack of professional personnel and so on. At the end of the paper, it proposed some suggestions for promoting the development of automobile industry cluster, such as clarifying the government function; accelerating the development of parts industry and so on.
