Research Of Industrial Cluster's Evolution Mechanism Based On Complexity Science

Since the concept of industrial cluster was formally proposed in 1990s, industrial cluster is economical phenomenon all over the world, and constantly develops and expands depending on its unique competition superiority in the increasing trend of economic globalization. Industrial cluster is also an important way improving the industrial competitiveness and forming the regional competitive advantage. Therefore, how to master the industrial cluster's evolution mechanism and how to promote it has became a common concern to many scholars and policy makers. It is just the research goal of this paper.As a high-tech industry, pharmaceutical industry plays an increasingly important role in the economic growth and industrial structure. Since "The Tenth 5-Year Plan", the pharmaceutical industrial cluster has been continued growth in Heze city. Under fierce competition in both domestic and foreign markets, how to promote and develop it rapidly and how to strengthen the competitive advantage of pharmaceutical industrial cluster are the problems crying out for solutions.Reviewing the literature of the industrial cluster's evolution mechanism home and abroad, this paper analyzes industrial cluster's evolution mechanism with the dissipative structure theory, synergetics and catastrophe theory based on complexity science, and establishes the co-evolution mechanism of industrial cluster combining the method of economics. Moreover, it takes Heze pharmaceutical industrial cluster as an example to demonstrate the industrial cluster's co-evolution mechanism above, and the paper presents some recommendations to Heze government. The paper falls into five chapters with the structure and main contents listing as follows: As an introduction, chapter one starts from a paradox of the industrial cluster's development and the issue of industrial cluster's evolution mechanism is introduced. Hereafter, this paper illuminates theoretical and practical significance of this research and defines the main contents, basic thought and method, structure arrangement and innovative points.Chapter two is a review of present literature of industrial cluster's evolution mechanism. The paper summarizes their arguments and finds out its limitation and advices to use complex science to research on industrial cluster's evolution mechanism.Chapter three analyzes the industrial cluster's evolution mechanism based on the complexity science. Firstly, the paper elaborates complexity characteristics of industrial cluster and demonstrates industrial cluster is a complex adaptive system. Secondly, it is about dissipative structure theory, synergetics and catastrophe theory. Moreover, the paper induces main factors of cluster, cluster effect, resources endowment, economic environment and institutional environment, and analyzes its specific way and effect on industrial cluster's evolution. Finally, the paper establishes a co-evolution mechanism of industrial cluster after analyzing the operation mechanism of industrial cluster and life cycle, which is controlled by the co-action of the factors and cluster system.Chapter four is an empirical study for Heze pharmaceutical industrial cluster's evolution mechanism. It refers to development, factors and characteristics of Heze pharmaceutical industrial cluster, and constructs a mode of co-evolution mechanism of Heze pharmaceutical industrial cluster.Chapter five is policy recommendations and main conclusion. According to problems with Heze pharmaceutical industrial cluster, this chapter proposes fundamental advices and measures to Heze government, and summarizes the main achievements of this paper.
