Remote Sensing Image Fusion Technology Research

The technology of remote sensing fusion is a new method of information integration and processing, which form nearly 30 years ago, sprouts most early in the computer vision and the machine intelligence domain. With the development of remote sensing technology, more and more different remote sensor is used for surveying. Those remote sensing data have the peculiarity of multi-remote sensors, multi-resolution and multi-wave band, that has demonstrated its own superiority and its limitation.In order to use these data serveing for our production, the remote sensing image fusion emerged at the historic moment.The remote sensing image fusion is an important link in the remote sensing image processing, is an important method of image data processing. But the method choice is the key to fusion result. Even the traditional method of PCA and HIS can improve the image quality, but they all have some shortcoming. The most obvious shortcoming of HIS method is the spectrum distorts, The PCA transformation method has better spectrum inheritance than the HIS method, because in this algorithm every wave bands has the relevance, after the PCA transformation the intensity component hasn' t been abstracted effectively from the multi-spectrum image that reflected the detail information, therefore obvious spectrum distortion is bring to the fused image. although fused the partial detail information, but the fusion effect is bad. Wavelet is a kind of atom about time frequency on the base of functional analysis, harmonic analysis and Fourier's analysis. It simultaneously has the sectional characteristic and the multi-resolution characteristic in the time and the frequency domain, we often call it 'mathematical microscope'. Therefore, the recent years, union the traditional fusion method and the wavelet has become the research focus, although the new idea isn't very mature, has already been demonstrated the huge application prospect and the development potentiality. The image fusion method study based on the wavelet transformation also is the research key of this article.This article combined the wavelet and the HIS transformation fusion method, and experiments proved this method can retain the spectrum information well in the multi-spectrum image, it is considered a effective method in the image fusion about multi-image and pan-image, the improved method can maintain the spectrum information of multi-spectrum image and the high resolution of the pan-image at the same time.
