Since the establishment, the Global Positioning System (GPS) has been the navigation platform of the most widely used and with the most users.In the recent years, with the expanding of GPS applications and the development of related technologies, the application in civil region can no longer satisfy the requirement of researchers. The GPS application in martial field, like the space technology and missile navigation, has gradually become the hot spot of research. Some low and middle dynamic GPS technologies cannot be used any more in these high dynamic conditions, and that's the reason why the research of high dynamic GPS receiver has become the key point of different countries. However, the tracking technology of high dynamic GPS signal, as one of the key technologies in GPS receiver, is still the bottle-neck of the whole process.This paper focuses on the research of high dynamic signal tracking, including the stand alone mode and with the INS assistant.Specifically, the primary work of this paper can be generalized as following:1. Analysis of the two different carrier tracking technologies, the phase lock loop and frequency lock loop, including the basic principles, respective technical features and application areas. By the tracking experiment, the tracking performance with different signals has been compared, providing a technical basis for the further studying of high dynamic signal tracking.2. Several high dynamic signal tracking methods are introduced, including the theory reasoning and necessary factor setting. By tracking experiment, the performance of each method is compared, and then a new tracking method, FPLL, based on weights adjustment is proposed. From the results of tracking experiments, FPLL can get good performance in different high dynamic conditions.3. Introduction of the INS system and several common GPS/INS couple modes, and a loop tracking performance judgement method based on 20ms summation of Ip channel absolute value is proposed. Based on this, two tracking loops for high dynamic GPS signal with INS assistant are proposed. And by tracking experiment, the feasibility has been proved.The FPLL tracking methods proposed in this paper have clear design pattern, and the feasibility has been proved by simulations. This paper is of great help and a good reference for the deeper studying of high dynamic GPS signal tracking.
