GL0NASS, another sate1lite navigation system which was developedby Russian, is described in detai1 in this paper, Inc1uding thestructure of GL0NASS, the structure of it's sate11ite signa1s, methodof ca1culating position of the sate11ite, time system and coordinatesystem, and so on. Second1y, the difference and the transformationparameters between coordinate systems of GL0NASS and GPS are introduced.A new approach of determining transformation parameters are presented,which is more suited for the status of GL0NASS today. Based on the theoryof pseudorange positioning and carrier phase measurment, thepossibility and advantages of GPS/GL0NASS combined app1ication isdiscussed. The observation equation of pseudorange positioning andcarrier phase measurment, and the a1gorithms of RAIM are presented too.The prob1ems and it's so1utions in GPS/GL0NASS combined app1ication arediscussed and studied pre1iminary.
