GIS has been widely applied to disposing coordinate-based geo-spatial data. Because of the fall short of implement of GIS in resolving problem of 3-dimension, which limits the application of GIS in the field of mine. Though the existing 015 software can process the altitude of spatial objects by using DEM, but it regards the altitude as one of attribute of it, they cannot build the 3-dimension topotaxy of spatial objects. It is difficult to operate the GIS in a true 3D environment, so people name the existing GIS as 2DGIS or 2.5DGIS. With the development of igital earth?and yber city? the people of engaging the study of GIS attach more and more importance to the true 3DGIS. As the rapidly development of the research of 3DGIS in the recently years, especially in the field of 3-dimension city model(DCM), Many researchers in China and abroad improved some models that are very useful. But, these models cannot meet with the needs of many applied fields such as mine~ geology.. weather ~. environment., physical geography Q hydrology etc. The research of 3DGIS is much more difficult than the one in 2DGIS and CAD. The softwares and theories of 3 DOTS all are still in the trial stage (Moloenaar M. 1990, 1993; Chen Jun 1995; Gong Jianya 1997). This paper will first analyze the arithmetic of building TIN, which is used to fields of mine and geology. Then the idea of using several face of TINs to express mined zone, which is based the especially need and the most irregular geometric character of underground mined zone is presented. And finally ,the 3-dimension spatial data model method which based dissecting the projection faces was sumniaried. In addition, combining the transverse task of DACHANG GAOFENG mine of GuangXi provinces this paper discussed the full process from collecting data,building modeL building the topotaxy,spacial analyst, the visualization of model to roam.
