Clusters are the aggregates of a few to thousands atoms or molecules or ions Their properties are neither like those for individual atoms nor the corresponding bulk and therefore clusters are named "the fifth state of the matter". During the development of cluster science, many concepts and methods have been introduced from nuclear physics, condense matter physics and quantum chemistry, cluster science has became an new interdisciplinary field between atomic-molecular physics and condensed matter physics. Now the studies of cluster science involve many fields such as magic numbers and shell structures, optics response,cluster-solid interactions, change of phase etc. The discovery of Co had made a sensation in science. The especial properties of cluster will be used in many fields such as material project, biology, medicine and electron device etc.The interaction of energized cluster beams with matter is a development of the ion-solid interaction. The impact of a cluster ion can provide transient conditions that are significantly more extreme than ion-solid interaction. This is due to the nearly simultaneous arrived of many closely spaced atoms within a small volume, which gives rise to high local energy density. The extremely high density of deposited energy of GeV heavy ion can be reached with MeV cluster beams. Under this conditions new phenomena should be discovered. The carbon clusters Cn+ (n= 1,2,3,4) were produced and accelerated on Beijing HI-13 tandem accelerator and solid-state nuclear track detectors CR-39 were irradiated. After a slight chemical etching, carbon cluster tracks, were observed for the first time by Atomic force microscope (AFM) and the clear images were obtained. The track structures for C1-C4 were analyzed and compared by the offline-analyzing program,of AFM. The interaction of the cluster-and solid was discussed.
