The high-density resistivity method is the important branch of electrical prospecting and widely applied to the geophysical prospecting engineering for the lower cost and the higher efficiency. They provide valuable information from the dense measure point using an automated data collection system that is an advantage to explain and process the complex field data. The forward problem is solved using a finite element technique in two dimensions that is a foundation of the inversion problem. This paper finished 2-D finite element forward program based on the theory of 2-D finite element technique. We used Occam's inversion method to inversion the 1-D and 2D geo-electric model and have briefly discussed the approach and procedure. Trial calculations of the theoretical show that the inversion converges stably and quickly but don't depend on the original model. When processing the actual field date, it can recognize the finer and more useful information about geo-electric model. So it is an effective method in the application of resistivity. It is very difficult to get a global minimum through old local inversion methods because they depend on initial models. The non-linear inversion methods are developed to overcome the difficulties met when the linear inversion methods are used in the geophysical inversion problems. This paper presents the simulated annealing is hopeful for the inversion problem of resistivity map reconstruction. Due to the slow speed caused by the global searching, so for, the method is limited in the processing the 1-D model.
