The main contents of this paper are listed as follows:In Chapter 1 .we introduce some basic knowledge of molecular biology. Most of the terms and concepts used in this paper are explained briefly here.In Chapter 2, we consider a 3D graphical representation of DNA sequences and their numerical characterization. The method is illustrated on the coding sequence of the first exonof human β-globin gene. Based on this representation, we analysis similarity of the firstexon of β- globin genes of 11 species.In Chapter 3, we utilize dynamic programming algorithm to search the local alignment and global alignment between mRNA sequences and protein sequences.
