Along with gradual energy lack, it becomes to be an important factor which effects national economy development that how to improve energy utilization efficiency. Utility system, which is maximal energy consumption child system of process industry, must utilize energy economically and proper to reduce cost of production. Along with modern science and technology development and multi-disciplinary intersection, it doesn't attend to energy utilization efficiency of local segment and single equipment but adopt system energy integration method to integrally design and reform system.The paper studies methods of utility system energy synthesis and optimum design by using mathematic programming, which is an effective tool.First, the paper builds integral model for general system, gives universal mixed integer non-linear model, and proceeds object function, such as annual total cost or annual total profit, and constraint, such as material, energy, physical property, design parameter, thermodynamics constraint and etc, to embody by joining with investment and operation cost.Second, according to model characteristic, such as non-linear, non-convex, multiple-peaked and so on, the paper discusses limitation of traditional solving algorithm, such as branch and bound method, GBD method and OA method, puts forward penalty function-makeup integer algorithm and genetic algorithm, analyses procedures of genetic algorithm, such as selection, crossover and mutation, brings forward modifications for specific realized problems of genetic algorithm, such as selection of initial points, operator design, adoptive value adjustment, constraint treatment and so on, and works out correlated solving program.Last, the paper verifies correction of optimum method by using two actual engineering subjects, of which one is structure fixation-parameter optimization and the other is structure and parameter combination optimization, considers possible units which constitute utility system and compound modes, builds superstructure of flow including multiple possible schemes, proceeds detailed MINLP model building and profound refinement of constraints, under the premise of solving algorithm expiration, uses improved algorithm to solve and analyze, and gets optimum result.By studying old ones from theory and practice, the paper establishes better method of utility system energy synthesis and optimum design, which combines genetic algorithm and mixed integer non-linear programming.
