In this article, a structure design and applied research on evaporative condenser was developed.Compared with types of condenser's structure characteristic, heat transfer performance and working principle, heat and mass transfer process on evaporative condenser was analyzed. Its structure was designed by computer's program integrated with diagrammatical method, and the mathematical model was build, then the numerical calculation was performed by computer's program.There are two type of heat pump seawater desalination unit was computational simulated and experimental studied, which used air-cooling and water cooling condenser as the heat source respectively. The results of simulation were in agreement with the experimental results. The unit was improved based on the experimental and simulation results.The new type heat pump seawater desalination unit was set up, which adopt evaporative condenser as heat source. The simulation allows the proper choice of the water flow rate, water temperature, the airflow rate, and air temperature. Both experimental and numerical results indicate that this system performance is greatly improved and this system is of great potential to be applied as a household desalination unit.
