According to the social development and reforms of the basic education, research-oriented study should be launched in high normal colleges and schools. The thesis sticks to the principle that the theory is combined with practice. On the basis of analyzing current situation of general physics teaching, we regard general physics course in high normal colleges and schools as the entry and carry on the practices of research-oriented study in high normal colleges and schools through problem research, aiming at exploring the effective way through which the research-oriented study consciousness and ability can be improved greatly and offering experience for high normal colleges and schools to do Research-oriented study practice widely and continuously.The thesis is composed of the foreword and three parts. In the foreword, the background of the Problem Research in General Physics Teaching (PRGPT) is introduced. Research meaning on PRGPT is also mentioned. In chapter one, understanding research-oriented study, we analyze the meanings and characteristics of PRGPT. In chapter two, the aims, models of instruction and student assessment in PRGPT are brought forward. In chapter three, the practices of PRGPT are discussed. The educational experiments are designed and implemented. The experiment conclusion and some instructional politic advices are given after the analysis and discussion of the experimental results.
